Background

Dot was built in 1922 by Rowlands Dockyards Limited in Bangor and initially was sailed in the Menai Straits by a Mr Brown who acquired her in 1928.

Dot was moved to Trearddur Bay in 1936 where she was sailed by Lieutenant Colonel Stanley and later the Alexander family until 1951.  She was bought by the Lightbound family in 1954 and was sailed in the Mersey until 1960 when she was then bought by George Neill and brought back to Trearddur Bay.

Dot was sailed by George Neill (and in later years by his two sons Chris and Pete) in Trearddur Bay and won many cups over the next five decades.

Dot is currently laid up in Trearddur Bay and may well be seen back on the water in years to come.
